hello, i’m nikita!
✨ Welcome to Sprinkle of Wanderlust – your guide to planning day trips and weekend getaways with limited PTO!
I’m a 30-something pediatrician who loves travel, road trips, soup dumplings, and cozy coffee shops 🚗🥟☕️
As cliche as this is going to sound, I’ve loved traveling since I was a kid. I even wanted to be a flight attendant when I grew up and have fond memories of taking road trips with my family over summer break in our Toyota Sienna. Truly the good ol’ days!
These days, I work full-time and don’t have much PTO to travel, but I still love squeezing in day trips and weekend getaways wherever I can. The ultimate work-life balance!
This blog is my way of sharing my travel guides and FREE printable itineraries with you! My goal is to help you plan a stress-free trip even if you only have a day or weekend to spare.
💌 I even have a travel freebie library that contains all of my free printable itineraries, travel guides, packing lists, and other travel resources in one convenient location!
I also use this space to share bits of cozy living, simple recipes, and self care ideas that help me find joy in everyday life when I’m not traveling.
So grab your coffee, get comfy, and let’s plan your next adventure! ♡
✨ A little more about me & my journey with burnout
I created this blog in February 2025 during a period of massive burnout. I was working long hours, felt completely drained, and realized I needed to slow down and reconnect with myself again.
I quit my job in December 2024 and took a year off to rest, recharge, and try out locum tenens – which is just a fancy word for travel doctor 👩🏽⚕️ Along the way, I rediscovered my love for traveling, writing, and self care – which is how this blog was born!
Fast forward to today – I’m starting a new full-time job and focused on finding a healthier work-life balance! Making time for the things that bring me joy — like travel, cooking, and cozy self-care — is now non-negotiable.
Travel and self-care don’t have to be big or complicated — sometimes all you need is a day or two to feel like yourself again. I’m still healing from burnout, but just taking it one day at a time!
